Cooperation with Finland in Innovation Sphere

A delegation of Vologda's entrepreneurs led by Mr. Zadumkin, PhD in Economics, head of innovative economics department of Vologda Scientific and Coordinating Centre of the RAS, visited Kouvola (Finland) from January 22 through 25, 2008. The main objective of the visit was to hold meetings with CEOs of Finnish companies involved in innovation processes. The focus was on the companies providing effective and responsible housing using metal structures. This innovative and responsible housing design and construction is in much demand throughout Europe.

The experts from Vologda also studied the expertise of InnoSudio working with intensive team methods producing lots of ideas in a short period of time. InnoStudio provides an open learning environment for the specialists with constant involvement on different projects. The consultants of the company provide confidence to use innovation and design skills: idea generation, user understanding, analysing, problem definition, conceptualization, synthesis and prototyping.

Mr. Zadumkin shared the experience of the work of the Vologda Scientific and Coordinating Centre of the RAS with the Russian Technology Transfer Network (RTTN), an innovation infrastructure tool aimed at effective dissemination of technological information and partner search for implementation of innovation projects.

The guests from Vologda also had a meeting with the Finnish journalists and went on a sightseeing tour of Kouvola.

Both parties agreed to continue collaboration in innovative activities aiming to set up a partnership that will last.
