In Russia, May 1 is celebrated as the Day of Spring and Labour. It is a holiday that unites people of different professions ranging from farmers to cultural workers, rescuers, teachers, state and municipal employees and entrepreneurs.

The visit was arranged as part of a series of visits throughout the Vologda Region examining economic and social development of regions.

All-Russian forum "Healthy cities: unity of government, business, science and society in achieving national development goals" was held in Vologda on March 14-15, 2023. Representatives of more than 30 regions of Russia took part in it.

Defender of the Motherland Day is celebrated in Russia on February 23. This is a nation-wide holiday that personifies the recognition of the great services of the Russian forces to the country and people.
