The Vologda Museum-Reserve dates back to the opening of the Memorial Museum of Peter I, the first museum in Vologda and in the entire Vologda province. The solemn event took place on June 5, 1885 in the presence of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich, the governor, the mayor and the archbishop.
The Russian Forest, the 30th successive exhibition for innovation technologies to be applied in the timber industry, in production of technological equipment for forestry and manufacture of wood and wood-working articles, will start its work in Vologda on December 3, 2025.
Vologda City is taking part in the competition "Cultural Capital of Russia 2027". The popular vote for the "Cultural Capital 2027" will last until December 5. Almost 85,000 people have already voted for Vologda to become the "Cultural Capital".
The exhibition of Vologda lace will last till mid December. The project is organized by the Government of the Vologda Region.
On November 19th, many of the region's museums and galleries offer free entry in order to have a more diverse range of visitors.
