The festival "Village - the Soul of Russia" features folk music and culture in Russia.
The Russian Folklore Festival “The Village - the Soul of Russia” has been held in the Vologda Region since 2014. It unites the best amateur groups, craftsmen, researchers in the field of traditional folk culture.
The creative project preserves cultural identity, creates conditions for the development of traditional folk culture and promotes the cultural and historical heritage of the Vologda Region and various regions of Russia.
Every year the festival takes place in one of the districts of the Vologda Region. The municipality obtains this right on a competitive basis.
The festival program includes concerts by folklore groups, the work of ethnocultural interactive platforms, folk games, folklore theatre performances, and a fair of handicrafts.
The Russian Folklore Festival "The Village - the Soul of Russia" is aimed at preserving and supporting traditional folk culture, attracting the attention of the public, government and business to the issue of preserving the cultural heritage of their ancestors, improving the quality of life of the rural population, and spreading the best practices of the Vologda Region and other regions of Russia in the field of preserving and developing traditional folk culture.
Participants of the festival are folklore groups, folklore and ethnographic studios, ethnologists, researchers, historians, masters of folk art crafts, vocal groups, dance groups and instrumental ensembles.
